Blogging can do many things to you as an individual: it makes you express yourself, it connects you with people you’re hardly likely to come across otherwise, it makes you more wise, it makes you more social, and among other things, it also makes you a good writer.
Truth be told, not everyone can write. Or at least, not everyone can write well. Often, those who can, don’t really like to write unless forced to do so. And the worst is when you can write and severely want to, but simply cannot. Yup, 666 for a writer: writer’s block. But, blogging makes you fight it all, solve it all.
Once you have a blog, you work towards making it more reader-oriented. For this, you write and write the way your audience appreciates. You also keep a tab on post-frequency. You make sure you write often. And then starts your success story: your blog begins to attract plenty, and gets you steady appreciation. Now all you’ve to do is sustain the reader base you’ve accumulated. It is this want, this desire to continue your blogging-success story that makes you write, and write, and write.
Common knowledge, it is, that practice makes you perfect. When you blog, you just write so, so much and so, so often that it becomes a habit. You no more find writing difficult, and more importantly, you no more fear it. You expand your knowledge base, and you build on it. You are more informed, and thus, more confident a writer. Also, as you keep doing things, you keep improving. You learn from your mistakes and iron out flaws the next time you write. You learn from bloggers around you, you draw from suggestions that your readers make.
To draw more traffic to your site, you join forums and social networks. You make friends, and expand your network. You participate in discussions and communities, and you learn the art of voicing opinion and debating. Gradually, you master it. Now no longer apprehensive about putting your thoughts on paper, you are no more scared of constructing your write up.
You are the blogger, the newly discovered writer. Enter the good writer- or possibly, very possibly, the great writer!
